Indian pay-television broadcaster Ten Sports is to rebrand its suite of channels on April 1.
The Ten Sports, Ten Action, Ten Cricket, Ten HD and Ten Golf channels will become Ten 1, Ten 2, Ten 3, Ten 1 HD and Ten Golf HD, according to the Indian Television news website.
“The decision has been taken to complement our wide portfolio of content,” a company spokesperson said. “Instead of having one channel showing only cricket and one only football we will now switch and swap.”
The rebranding will be accompanied by a new logo and brand message, the spokesperson added.
According to the Television Post news service, Ten Sports has also secured a licence from the country’s Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to launch a high-definition channel under the name Ten 2 HD.
