FilmOn Networks has agreed a one-year deal to become the global internet-based television platform provider for the 2015 edition of the Arena Football League (AFL) indoor American football competition.
Under the partnership, the FilmOn.com website will stream live coverage of every game during the 20-week AFL season to viewers outside the US.
FilmOn will devote multiple channels to the league while each AFL franchise will have its own custom-built encoder.
Supporters in the UK can also access coverage of the AFL via the FilmOn channel, which is available through UK pay-television operator Sky.
Fans around the world can also download FilmOn applications to access premium content via a mobile or tablet device, as well as the Facebook social networking website.
The new partnership comes after the AFL and FilmOn in 2012 launched ‘AFL Classic’ – an internet television channel that streams content such as classic games.
