The Argentinian Football Association has launched a new over-the-top streaming platform providing archive footage and a variety of other national team content.
AFA Play launches with video content including Argentina’s most historic matches and all the goals scored by the national team. It will also feature an exclusive interview with the legendary Diego Maradona, in which he discusses his time with the national team, along with a documentary on the history of the AFA.
Magazine content will include behind-the-scenes access to the national team, including a documentary on its preparations for the 2019 Copa América. There will also be a section dedicated to the fans, with stories detailing their commitment to following the team.
The AFA said fresh content will be added every month, with fans being able to access the service by registering online. The platform is available via its web version, www.afaplay.com, and through Android, iOS, Chromecast, Apple TV, Fire TV and Roku. Video content will be provided with subtitles in English and Spanish.
AFA president Claudio Tapia said: “This management continues working for the needs that society has, especially young people. Having a tool like AFA Play and gathering together the historical heritage so that everyone can know the past of our teams is very gratifying. This also gives us the possibility of putting ourselves at the forefront in relation to other federations, and the ability to generate more resources.”
