At The Races remains in the saddle with Breeders’ Cup

UK pay-television channel At The Races has extended and expanded its rights deal for US horseracing event the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

The agreement with Breeders’ Cup Limited grants ATR all UK and Ireland broadcast and betting rights to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships in 2016 and international online streaming and betting rights to several further territories worldwide. The additional territories were not specified.

The agreement means in the UK and Ireland ATR will retain its exclusive rights to in-home broadcast and to online streaming of the event but will also acquire licensed betting shop rights for the first time.

As part of the long-standing partnership agreement, ATR will continue to offer the full support of its media platform to Breeders’ Cup Limited and its sponsor partners with coverage including a full schedule of preview programming, a special focus on Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series races and a dedicated Breeders’ Cup event website at attheraces.com.

Craig Fravel, president and chief executive of Breeders’ Cup Limited, said: “At The Races’ coverage and promotional support across a range of channels is something we really value, not just for the event itself but for our sponsor partners.”

The Breeders’ Cup meeting returns to Santa Anita, Los Angeles, for its 2016 edition on November 4-5.
