Tanzanian pay-television operator Azam Media has agreed a five season extension to its rights deal with the Tanzania Football Federation covering domestic club competition the Premier League.
The deal runs across the 2016-17 to 2020-21 seasons of the Premier League and is worth TZS23bn (€9.5m/$10.5m), according to Tanzanian newspaper the Daily News.
The new contract extends an initial three-season contract that was signed in 2013. That deal was worth TZS5.5bn and expired at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The 2016-17 Tanzanian Premier League season is due to commence in September, with 16 clubs competing in the country’s top tier of club football
