The BBC Northern Ireland division of UK public-service broadcaster the BBC has acquired live rights to the national football team’s home friendly games ahead of its participation at the Uefa Euro 2016 tournament.
Coverage will begin with Friday’s friendly against Latvia and the deal will also take in further home games at Windsor Park in Belfast in March and May 2016. Opponents for these two games are yet to be determined.
The deal has been agreed with the Irish Football Association, with Northern Ireland set to feature at its first major international tournament since the 1986 Fifa World Cup.
The BBC and commercial broadcaster ITV are sharing rights to Euro 2016 itself, which takes place in France next summer.
