Pay-television broadcaster beIN Media Group has acquired rights in France to North American women’s basketball league the WNBA, according to L’Equipe.
The French newspaper said following June’s NBA Finals from the men’s league, beIN will broadcast 20 WNBA games through to October.
French stars Céline Dumerc and Sandrine Gruda (pictured left) compete in the WNBA, turning out for the Atlanta Dream and Los Angeles Sparks, respectively.
BeIN holds the exclusive rights in France for NBA basketball in a four-year deal running from 2012-13 to 2015-16.
