BeIN Sports renews NBA deal as Dish launches team-specific NBA Team Pass

French pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports has extended a rights deal for the NBA North American basketball league, while Dish Network has become the first pay-television operator to unbundle the NBA Team Pass service, allowing subscribers to follow a single team.

The length of the multi-year beIN Sports deal was not disclosed.

Under the agreement, beIN Sports will host the NBA’s official website in France and will show more than 35 live games in primetime during the 2016-17 regular season, including 22 Sunday games.

Set to launch during the 2016-17 season and hosted in a dedicated section of www.beinsports.com/france/, the new online destination will provide fans in France with extensive video highlights and original digital content in French.

NBA Team Pass allows subscribers to access coverage of a team’s out-of-market games throughout the regular season.

Meanwhile Dish Network’s new team-specific product, which has launched to coincide with the start of the 2016-17 campaign this week, is available for $119 (€109) per month. The standard NBA League Pass package, which includes out-of-market games for all 30 of the league’s teams, will continue to be available for $199 per month.
