Pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports has acquired rights for Australia’s upcoming rugby union games against France and England.
There had been fears that the two matches might not be available on Australian television channels after free-to-air broadcasters opted against showing the games. BeIN Sports initially only acquired rights to three of the five tour matches against Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
“Sometimes these negotiations between broadcasters and the host union of the Test matches can take some time, but we are delighted with today’s news out of beIN Sports,” a spokesperson for the Australian Rugby Union told the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
The BeIN Sports 3 channel will show France v Australia on November 20 and also England v Australia on December 4.
