Kelly Butler is set to resign as senior vice-president of the Fox Sports Europe and Africa arm of Fox International Channels, the broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox.
Butler joined FIC Europe & Africa’s executive team in December 2013 after having served as chief executive of pay-television sports broadcaster Setanta Africa, which operated in sub-Saharan Africa. FIC’s acquisition of Setanta Africa was confirmed in October 2013.
During her time at FIC, Butler helped steer the strategic direction and management of several sports operations across the region. She advised on acquisitions and business strategies for Fox Sports channels, including localisation, international programming negotiations, digital media and operations.
Diego Londoño, chief operating officer of FIC Europe and Africa, said: “As a veteran executive of sports businesses around the world, Kelly brought a wealth of knowledge, experience and relationships to FIC. She was instrumental in growing our sports footprint and helping guide strategy, operations and acquisitions.”
