Pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus Poland has appointed Michal Kolodziejczyk to the newly created position of editorial sports director.
Kolodziejczyk, a journalist with over 20 years of experience, has joined Canal Plus from his role as editor-in-chief at WP Sportowe Fakty, the Polish sports portal owned by Wirtualna Polska.
He is tasked with developing new editorial formats at Canal Plus’ sports operation and managing the work of the sports editorial team.
Sports production and the purchase of sports rights continues to be overseen by Michal Jarocki, Canal Plus’ sports production and acquisitions director.
Both Kolodziejczyk and Jarocki report to Malgorzata Seck, Canal Plus’ vice-president of programming.
Canal Plus is a major sports broadcaster in Poland. Its significant rights deals in the last 12 months have included a one-season contract for the rights to the European Handball Federation’s men’s and women’s Champions League, including the Final Four.
