Cyril Linette, director of sports at French pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus, has been appointed director general of sports daily L’Equipe.
L’Equipe’s parent company, media group Éditions Philippe Amaury, announced the appointment, adding that Linette is expected to take up his new position next month.
Éditions Philippe Amaury said: “The Amaury Group welcomes the arrival of a recognised specialist in sports and media. (The appointment) will aim to accelerate the transformation and development of L'Equipe.”
Linette has served as Canal Plus’ director of sports since 2008, having first joined the company as a sports journalist in 1996.
