French pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus has acquired exclusive rights for the basketball qualifying tournaments ahead of the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Canal Plus struck the deal with Fiba, the sport’s global governing body.
The broadcaster will show coverage of the 12-team women’s qualifying tournament, which is taking place in Nantes, France from June 13-19 and will feature the host nation.
Canal Plus will then provide coverage of the three men’s qualifying tournaments taking place in Turin (Italy), Manila (Philippines) and Belgrade (Serbia) from July 4-10.
The draws for the qualifying tournaments will take place on Tuesday, January 26.
