Canal ‘to respect’ beIN court decision, will broadcast and pay for Ligue 1 matches

Canal Plus has been ordered to perform its obligations under a sublicensing contract with beIN Sports and air two Ligue 1 fixtures per matchweek, along with settling its rights payments, the Nanterre Commercial Court has ruled.

Following the decision handed down yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, Canal Plus has said that it will appeal “as soon as possible” but has also decided to respect the decision and will air this weekend’s two matches, according to L’Équipe.
