The 2013 Women’s CEV Volleyball European Championships will receive television coverage from 28 broadcasters across the world, after organiser the European Volleyball Confederation and commercial rights-holder the Infront Sports & Media agency completed a number of rights deals.
German sports broadcaster Sport 1 and Swiss public-service broadcaster SRG will air the Championships in the event’s co-hosting countries.
Sport1 will air all of Germany’s matches, in addition to the semi-finals and final, live and free-of-charge. Further matches will be available on its separate pay-per-view platform Sport 1 Plus. SRG will broadcast all Switzerland’s games live.
The majority of the 28 channels are European, but coverage will also be available in Africa through pay-television broadcasters Al Jazeera and Sport Plus, and in Asia via pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports.
The event will also be viewed in Brazil, Mexico, and the US and Canada respectively through pay-television broadcasters Bandsport, Sky and beIN Sport.
Infront said negotiations are still taking place in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Latin America.
