Swedish cable-television operator Com Hem has completed its acquisition of pay-television broadcaster Boxer.
Com Hem confirmed that the value of the deal would be SEK1.3bn (€139m/$156m) – the equivalent of four times Boxer’s estimated 2016 ebitda.
Com Hem expects the takeover to generate an extra SEK300m in underlying ebitda in the first 12 months.
As part of the Com Hem Group, Boxer will be able to sell fibre-based broadband and television services to its customers.
Last week, the Swedish Competition Authority approved the transaction, which was initially announced in June.
In July, Com Hem agreed a multi-year deal with Modern Times Group for carriage of the multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster’s channels. The contract makes Viasat Sport Premium’s content, which includes English Premier League football, available to Com Hem subscribers.
