Media company Constantin Medien, which operates German sports broadcaster Sport1 and the Sport1 Media sports marketing company, has reshuffled its management team.
Hanns Beese, the chief financial officer of the Constantin Film division, has taken on the same role at parent company Constantin Medien, and Fred Kogel will serve as chief officer of Constantin Medien in addition to his existing role at Constantin Film. Kogel and Beese will form part of a three-man management board, led by Constantin Medien chief executive Bernhard Burgener.
Antonio Arrigoni, the company’s former chief financial officer, will leave “on amicable terms” in June.
A newly formed executive committee will assume control of the media group operating in Munich and Switzerland. The committee’s board members will include Constantin Film management board chairman Martin Moszkowicz; Olaf Schroeder, the chairman of the management of Sport1; and Martin Wagner, the delegate of the board of directors at the Team agency; as well as the three members of the management board.
Burgener said: “Through the new management structure, we expect considerable impulses for the further growth of our group. New business models in the future will allow a much faster implementation based on an early use of the entire Group’s knowhow. The positive experience in the digital transformation of our free-TV broadcaster Sport1 to the digital 360-degree platform provides impulses also for other business segments and new business models.”
Constantin also confirmed further details about its previously announced financial results in 2014, with strong second-half performances in the sports and film segments helping to boost earnings before interest and tax nearly threefold to €21.4m ($22.6m). Sports segment revenue increased marginally by 0.5 per cent to €148.2m with earnings improving by €6.9m to €3.7m due to the lower cost of materials and licences.
