Subscription broadcaster DirecTV is set to become the new home of Liga 1 in Peru, the top tier of Peruvian football, after striking an agreement with 1190 Sports.

In September, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) announced an agreement with 1190 Sports for exclusive rights to Liga 1 from next season. In what was a departure from tradition, the FPF, via legislation passed earlier in the year, assumed control of the sale of Liga 1’s media rights collectively on behalf of the clubs.
