Direct-to-home service provider DishTV has agreed a carriage deal for DSport, the new Indian sports television channel launched by international media and entertainment company Discovery Communications.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but DishTV said it will now offer a total of 13 sports channels in standard definition, the highest by any DTH service provider in India.
DSport offers content including club football competitions the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, Chinese Super League, Portuguese Primeira Liga and North America’s Major League Soccer; golf majors The Open, US Open and PGA Championship; US stock car racing series Nascar; the Six Nations rugby union tournament and UK and Irish horseracing events.
As a promotional offer, DSport will be free to preview for DishTV subscribers for a limited period.
