Eesti Meedia has acquired rights in Estonia for the 2018 and 2020 Olympic Games under a sublicensing deal with media and entertainment company Discovery Communications.
The deal covers the 2018 winter Games in Pyeongchang and the 2020 summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Eesti Meedia, a media company that operates in the Baltics, will provide free-to-air coverage of the Games via the Kanal 2 channel and digital platforms, as well as selected clips following live events.
International sports broadcaster Eurosport, which is operated by Discovery Communications, will retain pay-television rights to the Games and will also show coverage on digital platforms in the country.
Last month, Discovery Networks signed a separate deal with Eesti Meedia to sell advertising opportunities surrounding its Discovery and TLC brands in Estonia.
In June 2015, Discovery Communications acquired exclusive rights across 50 European countries and territories for the Olympics from 2018 to 2024.
