Eleven Sports Network has been made accessible on televisions in Singapore for the first time after the international sports broadcaster agreed a partnership with South Korean electronics company Samsung.
The broadcaster’s three channels – Eleven, Eleven Sports and Eleven Plus – launched on Samsung Smart TVs in Singapore on Saturday.
The channels have been made available through a dedicated Samsung Smart TV app, which has been built by internet video technology provider NeuLion. The app will be pre-loaded into all Samsung Smart TVs.
“Our non-exclusive distribution strategy means we want to reach as many fans as possible, and we are doing this in innovative ways,” Danny Menken, group managing director at Eleven, said. “This partnership with Samsung means our Eleven Sports service is now available on smart TVs for the first time, and we look forward to working with them to explore further opportunities in the region.”
Eleven holds rights in Singapore to football’s English Premier League and shows three live and three delayed matches per week. It also holds rights in the country to the English Football League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and Community Shield competitions.
As part of the agreement, Samsung will become the exclusive Smart TV category sponsor for Eleven’s Premier League, FA Cup and Italian Serie A properties in Singapore.
