International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has selected cloud video editing platform Blackbird to edit and publish content across its online platforms.
The two-year deal allows Eleven to integrate Blackbird into its video infrastructure and clip, edit and publish content seconds after it is live for distribution across Eleven’s social channels and OTT platforms in Belgium and Portugal.
Stevie Rowe, head of production at Eleven, said: “We want to give our fans access to the best sporting moments as quickly as possible and Blackbird will play a big role in helping us do that. They have a great product and we’re really looking forward to working with them.”
Blackbird, a rival of Grabyo in the social media clipping, editing and publishing space, was previously known as Forbidden Technologies but changed its name in May.
Eleven’s sports-rights portfolio includes properties such as football’s Uefa Champions League, English Premier League, Spanish LaLiga, German Bundesliga, the Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1, as well as the NBA basketball league, NFL American football league, UFC mixed martial arts series and Formula One motor racing series.
Blackbird’s customers include IMG, Deltatre, Peloton, TownNews, A+E Networks and the US Department of State.
