ESPN, ABC pick up Premier Boxing Champions rights

US pay-television sports broadcaster ESPN and the ABC network has acquired rights for the Premier Boxing Champions series.

Series operator Haymon Boxing awarded the rights.

ESPN will show the first of 12 two-hour live events per year in primetime Eastern Time on July 11. Spanish-language channel ESPN Deportes will also broadcast coverage.

Under the deal, ESPN International has also acquired worldwide rights.

ABC broadcasts will be shown on Saturday afternoons, with further details to be announced at a later date.

Live coverage will also be available through the WatchESPN digital service on computers, smartphones, tablets, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.
