Pan-regional pay-television broadcaster ESPN has agreed a three-season extension to its rights deal in Latin America and the Caribbean for the MotoGP motorcycling championship.
The agreement with the Dorna Sports agency, MotoGP’s commercial rights-holder, covers the 2016 to 2018 seasons.
ESPN will broadcast the complete 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons of MotoGP, including free practices, qualifying sessions, races and highlights, as well as additional coverage of the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships.
“ESPN is heavily involved in the Gran Premio de Argentina, with live programming broadcast directly from the circuit throughout the weekend, and their summary programs covering each grand prix are rated very highly by fans, proving the level of their commitment to the sport,” said Manel Arroyo, managing director of television and media for Dorna Sports.
The 2016 MotoGP season commences with the Grand Prix of Qatar on March 20.
