ESPN has reached a sublicensing deal with rival international pay-television sports broadcaster Fox Sports Latin America to acquire rights for the Serie A top division of Italian football across Latin America and certain territories in the Caribbean.
The deal, which includes Brazil, covers three seasons, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
Under the agreement, Fox Sports and ESPN will share coverage of Serie A, with both broadcasters showing about 190 matches per season, taking turns to pick their games.
The deal includes a weekly highlights show and a weekly official magazine programme plus archive footage.
Fox Sports secured the rights earlier this month in a deal with the MP & Silva agency, Lega Serie A’s national and international rights adviser.
