US sports broadcaster ESPN has acquired the exclusive rights to the heavyweight boxing fight between Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola for the WBC world title in Los Angeles on May 8.
The fight will also air on ESPN’s Spanish language channel, ESPN Deportes, and will be available to stream on computers and mobile devices via the WatchESPN application.
Beyond the US, ESPN will carry the fight exclusively in Latin America, the Caribbean, Brazil and Canada via pay-television sports broadcaster TSN and French-language sister network RDS, as well as its own subsidiaries in Australia and New Zealand.
Top contenders Arreola and Stiverne first met last April in a non-title fight, with the latter winning a unanimous 12-round decision. They clash once again for the prestigious belt, which was vacated by Vitali Klitschko in December so the long-time champion could focus on his political career in his native Ukraine.
