Eurosport has been announced as a launch partner for the new Xbox One video game console in a deal that will offer customers in various European markets the opportunity to access the pan-European sports broadcaster’s coverage of sporting events.
Customers in Austria, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK that buy the new console and opt for the Xbox Live Gold subscription will gain access to the Eurosport Player app.
The app offers an online simulcast service of the Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels, which will enable customers to access live coverage of sports events, bonus channels and a catch-up service.
Eurosport content on the Xbox One will be available in English, German, Italian and Spanish.
The Xbox One will launch in Europe on November 22.
Eurosport is extending its relationship with Xbox having already made the Eurosport Player available to Xbox Live customers on the Xbox 360 console in July.
