International sports broadcaster Eurosport has confirmed it will offer exclusive live coverage of the US Open in the UK, adding it will provide its best-ever broadcast of the tennis grand slam.
All the action from August 29 to September 11 will be shown live and exclusively on Eurosport 1, Eurosport 2 and live and on-demand via digital service Eurosport Player which, for the first time in the UK, will show live action from 12 match courts.
The confirmation comes after it was reported last month that pay-television broadcaster Sky had decided not to show this year’s edition of the US Open, bringing to an end one of its longest-running major rights deals. Sky has shown the US Open for 25 years and has previously sublicensed rights from Eurosport.
Britain’s Andy Murray will return to Flushing Meadows in New York on the back of his gold medal triumph at the summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and his victory at the Wimbledon championships last month.
