International sports broadcaster Eurosport has launched a new virtual reality mobile application to coincide with this year’s French Open grand slam tennis tournament, which began on Sunday.
Eurosport VR is available to download on iOS, Android and Oculus devices and will give fans access to a range of exclusive content.
Daily highlights packages include a ‘Shots of the Day’ feature, while behind-the-scenes footage is available to view at the end of each day’s action for the duration of the French Open, which concludes on June 5. The VR footage also includes 360-degree on-court views of exclusive interviews with players.
Highlights will be available via the Eurosport VR app within the 54 countries across Europe where Eurosport broadcasts the French Open.
Eurosport said the new platform will be available throughout the year, although details of events the app will incorporate following the French Open have not been confirmed.
