International sports broadcaster Eurosport is in talks to show drone racing, according to chief executive Peter Hutton.
Although Eurosport usually focuses on traditional sports, drone racing has “potential for sporting credibility,” said Hutton, who did not elaborate on discussions that have taken place.
Hutton added to the Reuters news agency: “We think it's an area worth us paying attention to and to test on audiences.”
ESPN, Sky and ProSiebenSat.1 have all recently sealed rights deals for the Drone Racing League in the US, UK and Germany respectively.
The league recently reached an agreement with production company MGM Television to develop a reality series about drone racing pilots.
