International sports broadcaster Eurosport will launch a dedicated 4K ultra-HD channel for its coverage of this year’s French Open tennis tournament.
Eurosport 4K will be available in a number of markets across Europe for the duration of the contest, which runs from May 27 to June 10 at Roland Garros in Paris.
The channel will show coverage of matches that take place on Court Philippe Chatrier at Roland Garros.
Fans in the UK can access Eurosport 4K via pay-television services Sky Q and Virgin TV, while the channel will be also available in France via pay-television broadcaster Canal. German satellite-television broadcaster HD Plus will also carry the channel, as will telco Orange in Spain.
Eurosport, which has broadcast live coverage of the French Open each year since 1989, said it will confirm other markets in due course.
It is the first time that Eurosport will show coverage of the tournament in ultra-HD.
