Australian pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports has acquired rights to a host of national team competitions organised by the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
Under the agreement, Fox will hold exclusive live rights to games played by Australia’s men’s and women’s national teams.
The deal covers the 2019 men’s World Cup and its qualifiers; the 2018 women’s World Cup; qualifying tournaments for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games; the 2017 and 2021 editions of the men’s Asia Cup; the 2019 and 2021 editions of the women’s Asia Cup; and the 2021 Fiba Continental Cups qualifiers for men and women.
The agreement was brokered by Fiba Media, the strategic partnership between Fiba and digital sports content and media group Perform.
