The CSI Sports media company’s Fight Sports Network has announced the appointment of Adam Zecha as its managing director for the Asia Pacific region.
Formerly executive vice-president and head of sales at ESPN Star Sports/Fox International Channels Southeast Asia, Zecha will bring almost two decades of channel and content distribution experience to the organisation.
Having spent more than 15 years at ESPN, Zecha will lead Fight Sports as it continues its commercial expansion throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Fight Sports Network has secured carriage deals with operators in 11 countries across Asia and Europe since launching in December 2012.
The channel’s programming line-up includes the live HBO World Championship Boxing series; the Big Fights ‘Live’ series, which features world title boxing fights sanctioned by the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO; plus kickboxing, mixed martial arts and martial arts tournaments from around the world.
Zecha said: “The timing could not have been more appropriate for the launch of the Fight Sports Network in the Asia-Pacific region and the opportunity for me to join the organisation to spearhead the development of this multifaceted, multimedia business. The future for this business, which celebrates increasingly popular sports, is very promising.”
