Hernan Lopez, president and chief executive of Fox International Channels, is to depart the broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox as it undergoes a structural reorganisation.
Lopez (pictured) has served in his current role since 2011 and will leave the company to launch a new venture that will be announced shortly.
Fox Network Groups is seeking to consolidate its global channels business, which includes Fox Sports, under its regional hubs in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Under the new structure, Jan Koeppen will become president of Fox Networks Group Europe, while Carlos Martinez and Zubin Gandevia will hold the same positions in Latin America and Asia, respectively. The three officials will report to FNG chief executive and chairman Peter Rice and FNG president and chief operating officer Randy Freer.
“As our television business expands globally, the success and scale of our entertainment and sports brands in these fast-growing regions demand that they stand independently,” Rice said in a statement. “Jan, Carlos and Zubin are extremely talented executives with a sharp understanding of the opportunities for new content and programming in their regions.”
As part of the restructure, the FIC label will be discontinued.
