Australian pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports has sealed a rights deal for the Women’s National Basketball League.
The deal will run for three seasons, from 2017-18 to 2019-20.
Under the agreement, Fox Sports will show live coverage of at least one game per week, as well as the best-of-three semi-final and championship series.
The deal was reached with Basketball Australia, which is introducing a new competition format for its top women’s tournament. Fox Sports and Basketball Australia will work together on scheduling over the coming weeks.
Public-service broadcaster ABC ended a 35-year association with the league by ending its coverage due to budget cuts at the end of the 2014-15 season.
