France Télévisions seals deal for European Handball Championships

French public-service broadcaster France Télévisions has struck a deal to show coverage of the latter stages of the 2016 men’s and women’s European Handball Championships.

The sublicensing deal with pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports is dependent on the men’s or women’s team from France reaching the final four of the event.

France Télévisions would provide full live coverage of any semi-finals or finals featuring the men’s or women’s national team.

BeIN Sports, which has rights for both of the tournaments under a deal with the EHF Marketing division of the European Handball Federation, would also show the games.

The men’s tournament is currently taking place in Poland and the women’s competition will be held in Sweden in December.
