The Copa América Centenario will receive free-to-air exposure in Ecuador after state-owned broadcaster Gama TV sealed a late rights deal for the national team football tournament.
The Copa América Centenario is set to commence later today (Friday) as host nation the United States takes on Colombia.
Ecuador will start its campaign against Brazil tomorrow (Saturday) and the tournament was due to only feature on DirecTV, with the pan-regional pay-television broadcaster holding rights across Latin America.
However, Gama TV has agreed a deal with the IMG and Soccer United Marketing agencies, which are marketing the commercial rights to the Copa América Centenario. It will broadcast all 32 games from the tournament, which runs from June 3-26.
Along with Brazil, Ecuador has been drawn against Haiti and Peru in Group B.
