Ginx TV, which operates the Ginx eSports TV channel, has agreed a deal with Canadian cable and satellite-television broadcaster Super Channel to launch a new 24-hour esports channel in the country.
The channel will replace one of Super Channel’s existing four channels and will launch in spring or summer this year.
All Super Channel subscribers will have access to the esports channel as part of their existing package, while new customers can subscribe through their cable, satellite or IPTV provider.
Although it is not yet clear what programming will feature on the new channel, Don McDonald, chief operating officer at Super Channel, said that content will include “shows, events and hosts already enjoyed the world-over”, as well as new content from the Canadian esports market.
Meanwhile, Ginx TV has expanded the reach of its Ginx eSports TV channel into Israel via a new partnership with national mobile operator Partner.
Ginx eSports TV will now be available on Partner’s G4TV mobile application, as well as the company’s television service, which is expected to launch in the coming months.
