Maltese telecommunications company Go has given new subscribers to its sports package the option to back out of the plan at no extra cost.
The Times of Malta newspaper reported that Go will offer people who subscribed to its Sports Premium Package between July 4 and August 12 the chance to cancel their membership.
It comes after fans of football’s English Premier League were left disappointed at the lack of games broadcast during the Saturday afternoon slot on Go’s premium sports channel. The channel is the exclusive Premier League rights-holder in Malta.
“The decision to offer this opt out to customers who subscribed between those particular dates acknowledges the delay between the initial press release announcing the changes to the broadcasting of English Premier League matches mandated by the Premier League, and the publication of updated information on Go’s website,” Go said, according to the newspaper.
