The International Paralympic Committee has entered into a content partnership with social media platform Snapchat.
Snapchat will run the first global ‘Paralympic Live Story’ on September 15, which will enable fans, athletes and media reporters to upload videos or pictures from the ongoing Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Snapchat users can contribute their ‘Snaps’ to the Paralympic Live Story through the platform’s ‘Live Stories’ feature.
Snapchat will then curate submitted Snaps and package them into a short-form videos that will be made available to Snapchat users around the world
Craig Spence, director of communications for the IPC, said: “This partnership gives us a fantastic opportunity to reach new audiences with content that was previously not available for fans.”
Paralympic events due to take place on September 15 include athletics, canoeing, road cycling and equestrianism.
