UK commercial broadcaster ITV has struck a three-year extension to its rights deal for tennis grand slam the French Open.
ITV has held rights to show the Roland Garros tournament since 2012 and its new deal will run from 2019 to 2021.
The ITV4 channel will continue to broadcast comprehensive coverage each year, with a guaranteed minimum of 90 hours devoted to each tournament. The action will also be available via video-on-demand service ITV Hub.
The deal has been signed with this year’s edition of the Open currently ongoing. The tournament is due to conclude in Paris on Sunday.
