Germany’s Angelique Kerber has become the latest tennis player to strike a deal to stream her matches live via social media platform Facebook.
Kerber’s (pictured) matches in the Fed Cup national team tournament this weekend will be streamed on her official Facebook page in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Coverage will be provided by DAZN, the OTT service operated by digital sports media company Perform. DAZN holds rights to the Fed Cup in the aforementioned territories.
DAZN will provide full coverage of tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) action, with Kerber’s two matches against the Czech Republic to be broadcast on her Facebook page. It has not been confirmed yet which Czech players the world No.12 will be facing.
Earlier this month, Kyle Edmund streamed his matches via his official Facebook page during the men's ATP tournament in Marrakesh, Morocco.
Swiss star Stan Wawrinka offered a similar service for his matches in the Open 13 Provence tournament in Marseille, France back in February. Fans of Belgian player David Goffin were also able to watch his matches at the Open Sud de France tournament in February on his official Facebook page.
