LeTV Sports, a sports-rights venture operated by Chinese IPTV operator LeTV, has agreed a three-year deal for rights to the Wimbledon tennis championships.
The Yutang Sports website said the deal signed with the All England Lawn Tennis Club covers the 2016 to 2018 editions of Wimbledon. It includes exclusive digital broadcast rights, distribution and redistribution rights to the championships in China.
The deal marks the first time LeTV Sports has secured rights to a grand slam tournament. The platform has other tennis rights, including men’s and women’s tournaments from the ATP and WTA tours, along with the Davis Cup and Fed Cup national team events.
