LFP warns Twitter over Vine clips

The Ligue de Football Professionnel, the football league in France, has warned that it will step up legal action against social media website Twitter and its Vine application.

The league’s head of legal affairs, Jerome Perlemuter, said that Twitter had ignored requests from to halt clips of games being shown via Vine on a slight delay.

“It is incomprehensible that a listed company that is supposedly as serious as Twitter handles the copyright issue so lightly,” Perlemutter said.

“If Twitter refuses to take into account the issue of the rights holders, we will be forced to act before the courts.”
