The Scottish Professional Football League has appointed the MP & Silva agency as its international development partner for the 2013-14 season.
Under the terms of the deal, MP & Silva will be the sole licensee of the SPFL’s broadcast rights in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia in the current season.
The agreement comes following June’s announcement that MP & Silva had been appointed as the SPFL’s overseas broadcast partners for nine years, from season 2014-15 to season 2022-23.
SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “We are delighted to announce that we will be working with MP & Silva, one season earlier than planned, in the key territories of the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, including important territories such as China, Japan and South Korea. This will extend the coverage of Scottish football around the world, as well as delivering a financial boost to all 42 clubs in the league.”
The SPFL was formed in June to govern club football in Scotland and is the result of a merger between the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish Football League.
