The MP & Silva agency has entered into a strategic partnership with live streaming solutions provider Simplestream.
The company will provide its services and solutions to support MP & Silva’s extensive customer base, which includes a number of sports federations, clubs and media clients. The length of the deal was not disclosed.
Simplestream will seek to support MP & Silva through the development of the full range of multiplatform video distribution including live streaming, real-time highlights clipping, catch-up, social syndication and subscription management services.
Simplestream will provide a number of customisable options for MP & Silva, including the ability to integrate a branded video player into publisher’s websites, as well as white-labelling the Simplestream Media Manager to broadcasters to extend reach and rights-optimisation through multiscreen OTT services.
Damon Garwood, managing director of digital and technology services at MP & Silva, said: “Having Simplestream as a preferred partner within our ecosystem allows us to extend the services and solutions available to our federation and media clients to maximise sports content to global fan bases.”
MP & Silva last month extended its global media rights distribution contract for the World Baseball Classic, with its deal for the 2017 edition of the national team competition including the Canadian market for the first time.
The worldwide agreement – excluding Japan, Puerto Rico and the United States – grants MP & Silva distribution rights for the tournament, and its qualifying events, across television, internet, mobile and radio platforms.
