EHF Marketing, the marketing arm of the European Handball Federation, has agreed a deal with MP & Silva for the agency to market the governing body’s media rights.
The agreement will run for seven years, from 2013-14 to 2019-20.
MP & Silva will distribute rights across all platforms for the EHF’s men’s and women’s Champions League, men’s Cup as well as the finals of other club competitions including the women’s Cup, women’s Cup Winners’ Cup and men’s and women’s Challenge Cup. The deal includes worldwide streaming rights for betting companies.
MP & Silva was already responsible for the distribution of media rights for the EHF’s men’s and women’s Champions League in territories including the Middle East, France, USA and Canada, but the sale of media rights for the federation’s other club competitions was previously handled in‐house by EHF Marketing.
In other news, MP & Silva has appointed Stefano Turconi as the agency's new senior vice-president for the Americas. He served most recently as the director of sports at Spanish media company Prisa after spells with the NBA basketball league and Concacaf, the governing body for football in North and Central America and the Caribbean.
