NBA nets digital partnership in Lithuania

North American basketball league the NBA has signed a multi-year partnership with Lithuanian internet news portal Delfi.

The agreement includes plans to launch www.nba.com/Lithuania, the NBA’s new official online platform in the country.

Set to launch during the ongoing 2016-17 season and hosted in a dedicated section of www.delfi.lt, the new platform will provide fans in Lithuania with one live NBA game per week, select NBA playoff games and a range of multimedia content including game recaps, top plays and localised highlights and real-time statistics.

The new site will also support the NBA’s grassroots events in Lithuania including the Jr. NBA Lietuva Basketball League, which launched last season, as well as feature regular promotions and sweepstakes with the chance to win NBA prizes.

There are currently three Lithuanian players on NBA rosters. Rookies Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Domantas Sabonis play for the New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder, respectively, while fifth-year veteran Jonas Valanciunas (pictured) turns out for the Toronto Raptors.
