Now TV, the pay-television service of Hong Kong telecommunications company PCCW, has reached an agreement to retain coverage of football’s English Premier League for the three-year period spanning the 2016-17 to 2018-19 seasons.
Now TV will broadcast every match over the next three seasons. The coverage will be produced by the LeSports Hong Kong division of Chinese internet company LeTV.
LeSports HK last September agreed an exclusive rights deal with the Premier League for the three-season period. Now TV had held exclusive rights for the 2013-14 to 2015-16 seasons and talk of an agreement with LeSports had been mooted when last year’s deal was struck.
Under the new agreement, all Premier League matches will be available through 11 LeSports HK and Now TV co-branded channels. These will include 10 bilingual channels in Cantonese and English, and one English channel in the form of PLTV Channel.
Coverage will also be available through the two companies’ respective OTT platforms and on-demand services.
