The Oceania Football Confederation has awarded media rights to Papua New Guinea media company Telikom PNG.
The deal will run for three years, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
Telikom PNG will exploit the rights on national commercial broadcaster EMTV, which will broadcast coverage of OFC-sanctioned tournaments and matches on an exclusive basis in the country.
The deal also includes exclusive rights to the Australian A-League domestic club competition.
Coverage of OFC tournaments and the A-League will be broadcast across the EMTV Analogue free-to-air channel, as well as the EMTV Online and EMTV Mobile streaming services.
EMTV will also broadcast coverage on its new EMTV Digital Pay TV channel, which will launch in January next year.
EMTV, which was acquired by Telikom PNG earlier this year, is also in advanced talks with Fifa, football’s global governing body, regarding rights to other international tournaments.
OFC president David Chung said: “As president of the OFC, I will be helping to push for EMTV’s coverage as a preference, through recommendations for all Fifa events.”
